How much did you lose?
I have lost a total of 124 pounds (and counting). My waist went from a size 48 to a size 34. My shirt size went from a 3X/4X to a Large.*
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I have had weight issues my entire life. The turning point was when I was a the mall and I could not fit a 3XL size shirt and I asked the store associate if they carried a 4XL. I knew then it was time for me to do something.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I was tired of being the overweight guy amongst my family and friends. I remember trying to g for a bike ride when I was much heavier and I had to turn around and go back home because it was too much work to pedal and ride for blocks.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
It all started when I attended a meeting at the Ideal Protein Facility. I got to meet my health coach Joen. I was able to sample some snacks and drinks and I signed up for an initial appointment. Eating healthy was the key and sticking with it and “not cheating”.
What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
The first month of the plan was tough as I was detoxing my body from all of the toxins (sugar, salt, etc.) Also, for me it was challenging trying to cook. My wife cooked the majority of the meals, so instead of stressing her out trying to prepare certain meals for me, my coach suggested that I prepare my own meals. I think that has helped me out a lot.*
How long did it take you to start to see results?
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I started September 20th of 2013 and hit 124 pounds lost this month (May 10th, 2015), so it took me about 1.5 years to get to my current weight.*
How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I am still it he weight loss phase. The most important things to me are to remain active and continue to eat a balanced diet.
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
How I look, how I feel, my overall confidence and compliments from coworkers, family/friends really help to keep me motivated and stay on track. Ideal Protein has helped me save money on my health and life insurance. Before I stated on Ideal Protein, I was considered high risk on my life insurance since I was overweight and considered obese. One year after the program and losing 124 lbs., I was able to get my life insurance reevaluated and now I have a cheaper monthly life insurance premium and double the coverage I was previously receiving.*
How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
I am healthier, have more energy and look better.*
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
The things that worked for me were setting obtainable goals, working with a coach and staying mentally strong through the process.
